Often in our spiritual journeys, God uses past hurt and brokenness to help
us better understand others in similar situations. Such is the case for us
at Mid-Valley Fellowship. Through our own lives and experiences, God has
enabled us to "comfort ... with the comfort [we] have received from God"
(II Corinthians 1:4b).

Duan Walker
Executive
Director

After years of struggling and feeling defeated and controlled by
homosexuality, Duan sought help from
Portland Fellowship (a sister ministry
of Mid-Valley Fellowship). Over the few years that followed, God began to
reveal Himself in a new way and brought healing to Duan's life and
relationships. The journey is not over, but there is a new hope that gives perspective.

full story.
In 2006, Duan completed the Upper Room Intern Program at Portland
Fellowship. It is a 9-month program that provides skills and experiences to
work in or begin a ministry to those who struggle with homosexuality. After
much prayer and encouragement, Duan and Kendra Hanes embarked on establishing
Mid-Valley Fellowship to serve those struggling in the Central Willamette
Valley.
Duan has
spoken at churches, schools, small groups,
and met with Leadership Teams.

 Women's Ministry
Volunteers |
Angela Miller
began volunteering for Mid-Valley Fellowship in 2007. She serves as a group
co-leader for Taking Back Ground and is a great source of encouragement and
support to women as they face difficult issues. Her compassionate heart has
been a great addition to our volunteer team.
Shar Geisert has served in many
different capacities in various ministries over the years she and her
husband Phil have lived in Corvallis. Her history and perspective with
ministries like Mid-Valley Fellowship is a welcome addition. After a
sabbatical from ministry, Shar has been volunteering for Taking Back Ground
since early 2008.

Our second annual
benefit dinner was held in October 2008 at Springhill Country Club. Nearly
100 people joined us for the evening, as we explored the mission and vision
of Mid-Valley Fellowship. This incredible evening was made possible through
the generosity of our leadership donors and the work of many caring
volunteers. We are incredibly grateful!

In the
Fall of 2007, Mid-Valley Fellowship had an
incredible opportunity to celebrate the great things God has done over the
last year and look to the future. Eighty people
joined us for the celebration and many took the next step of financially
partnering with Mid-Valley Fellowship. Overall, the evening was an exciting
and encouraging time for us.
