My leadership health and abilities were just beginning when I started the Eremos internship in the fall. I had started to jump into ministry but I had no idea how much it takes physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I was not ready for the long haul.
I signed up for the internship because I felt God pulling me into ministry helping men struggling with sexual addictions. I wanted to learn more about leadership in this area and to be better equipped to mentor men and get the churches more involved. Since I started my internship, I have learned a lot about being a healthier leader. I am better equipped for the long haul and how to stay healthy in all areas. I can find better rest and understand where my capacity is. I’ve learned how to counsel, ask better questions, and be attentive to what the Holy Spirit is stirring up. I have also grown deeper in my relationship with God and my trust in him especially when stepping into this new world of ministry for me.
My mission statement from God is clear, “Help men struggling with sexual addiction and get the churches involved.” I believe working with Mid-Valley Fellowship to accomplish this mission is where I will be after internship. While I’m not 100% sure what that looks like, I believe God will continue to open doors on this journey as I follow him.
