Dear Friend,
Receiving this letter indicates that you have a partner (husband or boyfriend) who is caught up in sexual bondage and is in the beginning stages of finding help. While we are encouraged that he is stepping out to gain knowledge, healing, and support, we know this often means a woman is left behind who is desperate for answers, truth, understanding, and hope. We want you to know that these and more are available to you. In fact, we have found that true restoration for marriages/relationships can only happen when both people choose to pursue their own healing.
It is common for a woman to feel betrayed, angry, numb, confused, and devastated when she learns of her partner’s struggle. Maybe you felt or feel these emotions and are unsure what to do with them or how to receive help. You are not alone.
The truth is that whether or not your partner chooses to become well, you can find healing and move forward. You do not need to continue in an emotional state of confusion, isolation, and pain.
One of the most helpful steps you can take for your own healing is to engage with counseling and support programs. At Mid-Valley Fellowship, we offer support to women through individual counseling and a program called Hope Together. Hope Together can help you gain knowledge about sexual addiction, as well as tools you will need to move forward, all within a supportive, loving environment with others that can relate to what you have experienced. We can help you identify vulnerabilities in your own life, so that you can guard against further harm and plan for a healthy future.

Before coming to MVF, I was really struggling with hopelessness in my marriage. Because of not knowing how to handle my husband's addiction, I had pulled back from community, which left me feeling isolated and so lonely. I just kept my struggles between me and Jesus, without realizing how much He has made us for community. MVF gave me a safe place. It was so powerful to be able to go somewhere for healing, where people didn't have these preconceived notions about me. I felt freedom to be totally honest with myself and others, and it was in that space that I began to see my own brokenness and how deeply I needed the Father's touch.
My husband had gone through the Clean Heart program on his own and had experienced big change. I was still dealing with bitterness and trust issues on my side of our relationship. I started Hope Together to explore the areas that were still hurting in me and find healing. Going through MVF, I realized that I had buried my grief about my marriage in order to "be the strong one" in the relationship, while my husband worked on his healing. The buried grief caused deep bitterness. I needed to dig out the grief and process the feelings around it. I also needed to give up control by relying on God instead of myself. God is dealing with the overwhelming feelings of having everything on my shoulders, along with forgiveness and finding out what that actually looks like.
My life before MVF was a mess. My husband had an affair, and I was in complete crisis. I came to MVF seeking help in understanding and learning how to heal and trust God thru this process. A lot has changed including having a healthier marriage, closer relationship with God, stronger support system, better communication, and understanding of my emotions. I feel like I have grown in so many ways. I am more understanding and forgiving and trusting God’s process and knowing He is faithful.
We hope you will join us in this journey of healing. You do not need to bear this burden alone. Reach out for support or learn more:
